About Us

The Citizens Bank was incorporated in Bearden, Arkansas on June 7, 1945, by a group of local businessmen. This group raised $25,000 to capitalize the bank issuing 1,000 shares of stock at $25.00 per share.

On September 24, 1973, The Citizens Bank filed a proposed amendment with the Bank Commissioner to change to Bank of Bearden.

The Bank of Bearden formed a holding company on March 30, 2001, Bearden Bancshares, Inc. and converted to a Sub S corporation. The bank also formed BBI Insurance Agency, Inc. on September 20, 2005.
